If you want to make it available to anybody working in your Mac then place it under system home (/Library/Keyboard Layouts ). Test your Mac's unicode capability by visiting or to check that the Assamese contents are being displayed correctly. I have used fonts from Ekushe, which somewhat satisfies the requirements but they have issues with showing up juktakhars containing Assamese "ra".
